Each Bridal purse and wedding ring holder is a classic objet d'art. The metal components are all gold vermeil. Golden and brilliantly-clear Swarovskis lavishly adorn it. Genuine pearls dangle from the purse chain eyelets. Gilded chains in two lengths accompany the purse: one for the shoulder, the other for carrying by hand. The base is hand-enameled in sparkling colours of warm ivory and gold. In nightlights or sunlight, this collector's piece shimmers with intense sparkle.

The Details

The Bridal minaudiere is approximately 6.5" by 4" (18cm by 10cm). Inside is a small beveled mirror and hand-dyed silk lining. The purse arrives with two chains: one for shoulder wear and a short one for hand-carrying. It may also be carried as a clutch without either chain. The chains and all metal components are gold plate with the exception of the purse chain eyelets: they are made of a stronger metal. A removable silk-covered ring platform is included with each Bridal model.

An artist Certificate of Authenticity as well as a jewelers' polishing cloth is enclosed. The purse is swathed in a silk velvet bag carefully nested within an elegant gift box. Each minaudiere is signed by Mme. Carlin.

Four colours are offered ~ Sapphire, Ruby, Purple Tanzanite, and Pearl White.

This couture design is exclusive to Olivia Carlin of Atelier Carlin. (Atelier is the French way of saying artist's studio.) This design in the Bridal Collection is one of Mme. Carlin's signature styles.

Symbolism in the Design

*Brilliant clear Swarovskis represent diamonds. Diamonds have symbolized bonding for centuries. Wedding rings are worn on the third finger because that finger has the most direct blood line to the heart. Diamonds set into a ring worn on the third finger symbolize the bonding of the marriage.

*White pearls represent fertility and the feminine essence. Pearls are formed inside a shell, just as life grows in a womb.

*Gold plated floral elements represent fertility, bounty, and the renewal of spring.

*Gold represents purity and strength - the foundation of the design composition.

*The diamond-coloured circles have been placed in the pattern known to needlewomen for centuries as the "Double wedding ring" pattern.

During The Ceremony

The rings are placed in the holder and then the Bridal minaudiere is borne by the Ring Bearer during his careful march up the aisle. At the altar, it is opened by the Best Man to retrieve the rings for the ceremony. The Ring Bearer then gives the Bridal minaudiere to the Matron or Maid of Honor to hold during the ceremony.

Once the wedding rings are on the hands of the Bride and Groom for their lifetimes, the ring holder becomes a beloved keepsake evening bag for the Bride to carry on special occasions out with her partner. (The ring platform is easily removed after the wedding.)

After the nuptials the Bride is reminded of her special day every time she holds or sees her Bridal minaudiere. The wedding minaudiere becomes an heirloom to pass on for generations.
